Used to have a terrible reputation however is currently under new management.MilSims Games - Unit 9, 31-37 Howleys Rd, Notting Hill, VIC, 3168, Australia | +61 3 9558 8009 Open Tuesday through Sunday, sells boardgames, CCGs, LCGs, miniatures and has plenty of free gaming space, frequent tournaments and events. The Wicked Goblin - 44 Lake Street, Cairns, QLD 4870, Australia | +61 7 4028 3434 Queensland University Games Society - Meets weekly on Mondays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at UQ.Should be easy enough to find players by broadcasting on their facebook page, or coming to their weekly board game night which they have every Friday - Captain-Weather. Community is dominated more by miniature and TCG gamers, however still has a very good boardgame crowd. Solid range, decent prices, large space, and a friendly staff combine to make The Games Cube a very lovely place. The Games Cube - Level 2, 79 Phillip Street, Parramatta 2150 | + 61 8677 1966 Have special boardgame events, and a regular game night every second Friday which is really helped by the large space they have available - Captain-Weather. Where they make up for it is with fantastic owners and a great community. Price is generally +$10 compared to the average. They cater more to TCG's but their range of boardgames is decent enough (delight or disappointment largely depending on what you are after). Great store, especially for those out west.Prices are good and it is easy to get lost in the gigantic store (or lured into dabbling with other hobbies) - Captain-Weather. Traditionally focused on model trains and the like, Hobbyco has recently started stocking a decent range of board games.Hobbyco Town Hall - 429-481 George Street (Queen Victoria Building), Sydney, NSW 2000 | +61 9264 4877 The store has a nice space available, and has board game nights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (though you are always welcome to play on other days to my knowledge) - Captain-Weather. Open seven days a week, with a good range and solid prices.Good Games (Town Hall) - 222 Clarence Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 | +61 9264 8185 Usually your best bet for a game fresh off release, especially games released at events like GenCon and Essen - though generally at a premium - Captain-Weather. Price is about par for the course, with it largely depending on the game. The young guys working there are very, very knowledgeable and helpful (though the older woman who is the manager can be pushy). Their brick and mortar store however is a different story. By all accounts you should avoid their online store like the plague as stock levels are erratic and shipments take far longer than is reasonable. The trade off for this is that to keep prices low they are usually quite slow on picking up new games, or refilling sold out stock - Captain-Weather. It does however boast probably the broadest range of stock at the cheapest price available within Sydney (generally speaking $20 cheaper than most competitors), which carries over to their online store as well with bargain prices by Australian standards. Only open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and has only a small gamer community.Good range, though price is a little above baseline - Captain-Weather. Runs games afternoons/nights on Thursday.
