We’ll continue to offer support, bug fixes, and security updates for OneNote 2016 for the duration of the Office 2016 support lifecycle, which runs through October 2020 for mainstream support and October 2025 for extended support. If you currently use OneNote 2016, you won’t notice any changes when you update to Office 2019. Voice and ink are a powerful combination. Microsoft plans to improve in this area further with more digital inking features such as pencil, ink replay, and a new pen focus view. The app also has enhanced support for the Surface Slim Pen 2 so that you can feel tactile signals and have a more organic experience when you're using the hardware. Other functionalities include a simplified ribbon to preserve screen real estate and an updated Draw tab that is consistent with other Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. ![]()
